 Rohtang Pass is one of the most famous places near Manali. It is around 50 km away and open mainly in summer months, but snow remains here for long time even in summers too. That is why it is called the snow gate of Himachal Pradesh. For travellers, it is not only a mountain pass, it is also a place where you can enjoy real snow adventure like one of the most loved activity here is skiing.

Snow That Never Ends Fast

In many parts of Himachal Pradesh, snow comes and goes with season. But in Rohtang, snow stays for longer. That makes it best place for skiing. The best time to visit Rohtang Pass for skiing is from May to October. In winter, the pass is closed due to heavy snow. But when it opens, tourists run here to touch snow and try adventure. Morning time is better becuse later roads get crowded. And from my personal recommendation, always check the weather before going, and carry warm clothes, as wind is very very cold.

Skiing can be done in many hill stations, but Rohtang Pass feels special. The height, the open snow slopes, the fresh mountain air, all make it unique. You do not need to be expert, even simple sliding gives full joy. And with help of local teams. with them you can try this activiy full safely.

My First Skiing In Manali

When i was in my city i thought it is winter now, and i decided to go Manali but I never thought I will ever ski in life. I used to see snow and skiing in movies, people wearing goggles, colorful jackets, and sliding on ice. But when I finally reached Manali in Manali.
